Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson - born Jacqueline Luesby to Chris Watson and Jacqueline Luesby, two British lawyers - was born on the 8th of July, 1989 in Paris. When she was a kid she was enrolled in at the Dragon School in Oxfordshire. Emma's ambition was to become an actor. As a young girl of six, she joined the Oxford Stagecoach Theatre Arts branch and took lessons in acting, singing and dancing. As part of a school production and an Stagecoach Production, Emma took her role as lead actress at 10, and acted. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone, the 2001 film adaption of J.K. Rowling's bestselling book was filmed in 1999. Agents for casting found Emma by way of her Oxford theatre teacher. David Heyman told Emma along with Rupert Grint, Daniel Radcliffe that they had all been through eight straight auditions. Emma's first film on the screen was Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone which was released in 2001. This film was 2001's highest production, and it broke records at the opening as well as the first weekend. The film was praised by critics and its performances by the three leading actors of the young generation. The Daily Telegraph in Britain and the Daily Telegraph in America, widely read the newspaper, described her performance as outstanding. Emma received five awards for her performance in the movie.
